Biographical Sketch

Doctor Lloyd James Baiyegunhi is currently a Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Economics, School of Agricultural, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa. Before joining the University in January 2009 as a Lecturer, he had begun his career at University Fort Hare, Alice South Africa where he taught from May 2006 - December 2008.

He has authored/co-authored over 35 papers in ISI/DoHET accredited journals. They includes Forest Policy & Economics, Energy for Sustainable Development, Food Security, Journal of Forestry Research, Journal of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Tropics and Subtropics, Journal of Human Ecology, Studies of Tribes and Tribal, Journal of Economics, African Journal of Agricultural Research, Ghana Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Applied Sciences Research, Water SA, and Agrekon. He has authored and co-authored contributed papers presented at various international, regional and national conferences.

Doctor Baiyegunhi is registered as a Professional Natural Scientist by the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions. He is also NRF C-Rated researcher, which confirms that he is an established researcher with a sustained recent record of productivity in the field and with a body of quality work, the core of which has coherence and attests to ongoing engagement with the field. This comes with some international recognition for the quality and impact of his recent research outputs.
